200+ Adorable Ocean Baby Names for Your Little Beach Bum

Looking for beach or ocean baby names? I got over 200 for you to look over!

First off—congrats on your pregnancy! I remember those days of list-making, name-stalking, second-guessing every choice, and the back and forth vetoes of names.

Choosing a baby name is so hard! Is it cute? Will kids make fun of it? HOW will they make fun of it? Can it be shortened? How does the full name sound out loud? Is it way too popular? Aghhh! The pressure is real. Hopefully I can help.

I’m obviously an ocean lover, so it’s not a huge surprise that one of my kid’s name has an ocean meaning. I named my younger son Dorian, which means “gift of the sea.” It fits him perfectly—calm, beautiful, full of life, but also strong and a little unpredictable… just like the ocean.

That’s the fun thing about ocean baby names and beach baby names—they’re not just pretty, they usually come with a story. Some parents choose them because they live by or love the coast (me!), or because there’s a beach, island, or surf town that holds special memories.

And these names are flexible, too. They can shine as a first name, work as a middle, or even be a short, beachy nickname for something more traditional.

In this post, I pulled together over 200 ideas—from popular picks to mythology, coastal towns, international names, and more. So grab your list, take a deep breath, and let’s dive in.

Already planning on taking your future beach bum on a beachy vacation?
